“Turn your dreams into goals, then add action and run with your dreams.”
Taking the advice of one of my friends in March of 1989, I decided to investigate the products and opportunity that Arbonne had to offer. At that time, I was at a crossroads in my life and I needed to make a decision. I had loved the time I spent after college teaching elementary school children, but decided not to return to work while my six daughters were growing up. As they became a little older and the financial demands of raising a family grew greater, I felt that I should start teaching again. I had verbally accepted a teaching position, but had yet to sign a contract, when my friend, Debbie, enthusiastically shared her Arbonne experience with me. Although she knew I was considering going back to teaching, she encouraged me to look into Arbonne first. I wasn’t very excited because my mind was all but made up on returning to the classroom. Nevertheless, I made an appointment with Deana Wilkinson for the next morning. Usually, I am very methodical, analytical and weigh my decisions carefully, but after learning about Arbonne, I was very excited about the opportunity. So, very much out of character, I made the decision to try this business immediately, because it just “felt right.”
I was delighted that my husband, Loren, was extremely supportive of my decision. Excited and enthusiastic about my new career, I sponsored three people in the next two days and qualified for District Manager within two months. One year later, I became an Area Manager, then a Regional Vice President in 1995 and most recently, Executive National Vice President in 2003. The journey to the top has been filled with peaks and valleys, winding curves and uncertain paths. Endless obstacles dotted the landscape affecting not only myself, but my team, with challenges such as illnesses, surgeries, business setbacks, residential moves, divorces and deaths. The road is not always easy, but the end result is worth it. When I first became an Arbonne Consultant, I gave myself two months to see how successful I could be. When I qualified as District Manager at the end of that time, I was determined to make it all the way to the top. My parents raised me with the belief that I could do, or be, anything I wanted to if I worked hard enough and was focused. Ultimately, my achievement is a testament to the teachings I received when I was young and my successes will always be a tribute to my parents.
Arbonne is like a precious gem among everything that I value and hold dear. Because of Arbonne, my life has been enriched beyond anything I could have ever dreamed. The most rewarding part of all is that I can share my Arbonne treasure with others without diminishing the value for me.
Arbonne has made an impact in seven main aspects of my life, which I am extremely grateful for and privileged to share with you.
I am enjoying a lifestyle I never thought possible. My husband is actually looking forward to early retirement from his corporate job because my Arbonne income potentially provides us with a financially secure future. We don’t ever have to think about retirement from Arbonne because the potential for residual income is consistent and continuous. In addition to that, I am the proud owner of a beautiful white Mercedes-Benz, have helped my children through college, traveled on exciting Arbonne adventures and I am looking forward to building a dream home with my husband.
I have always loved striving to do my best in whatever I endeavored to do. Arbonne has provided the perfect medium to showcase my creativity, leadership and patience. It has given me a chance to develop my courage, confidence, altruism and public persona. With each new facet of my personal development, I feel myself wanting more out of life and from myself. Looking back at the person I used to be to the person I have now become, gives me a satisfying sense of accomplishment like I have never known.
Arbonne has allowed me to build a successful career around my family, instead of building my family around my career. I can keep my priorities in order: God first, family second and career, third. One of the greatest thrills I have ever had was when my daughter, Kathryn said to me, “Mom, you were always here for me. When I came home from school, you were always here.” I was fortunate to have joined Arbonne when Kathryn was 8 and my others girls were still very young, so I experienced the best years of their childhood with them.
Because Arbonne is an international company, the leaders have a very global way of thinking. As Consultants, we are fortunate to have experienced the beauty of many different cultures in our travels around the country and the world, from Chicago, Boston, Miami, Dallas, San Diego, Phoenix, Nashville and many other places in America, to Italy, France, Hong Kong, Hawaii, the Caribbean and other magnificent locales around the world. I’m looking forward to many more exciting adventures with Arbonne.
Arbonne has broadened my intellectual horizons. Because of Arbonne, I read more, listen to audio training tapes, exchange ideas and delve deeper into researching this industry of network marketing. School is never out for the professional seeking to improve. With Arbonne as the learning center, I look forward to being in school for a very long time.
Each individual brings a part of divine nature with them. There is a special spirit that radiates in Arbonne and the sharing and genuine concern for each other is so evident. I feel uplifted and renewed when I am around my Arbonne family.
Because Arbonne has a reputation for quality products that are pure, safe, beneficial, it has a significant role in helping all of us who use these products feel and look our very best. Arbonne has products that help us feel good inside and out, from the line of anti-aging skin care to nutritional programs and Natural Balancing Cream. I want to be planting fruit trees when I’m 90-years-old and looking forward to the future with all of my other Arbonne friends.
Arbonne has given me the opportunity to set my dreams in motion, animating them into living color and helping them become part of my day-to-day reality. By providing the tools, Arbonne puts all hopes and dreams into our own hands — all we need is the desire and perseverance to succeed. Winners dream, set goals, work to achieve their goals, dream bigger dreams and then, set out to fulfill them. It is a cycle of success built upon success. A priceless lesson to learn is that our most precious possession is the “here and now.” Nothing can buy it and once it is squandered, it can never be recovered again. So take advantage and embrace your life today. To me, life is a do-it-yourself project that should not be put off. It won’t just build itself. We are directly responsible for our own success or failure. We can’t blame others as aneasy way out. Even God allows us the freedom to make our own choices. I have dreams of the home I want to live in, the opportunities I want to give to my children and grandchildren, the places I want to visit, the mountains I want to scale, the talents I want to develop and the weaknesses I want to overcome. I know it is up to me. I do not want to end my life with my dreams buried inside. I want to run with my dreams and bless the lives of generations to come. Choose to be the paradigm of a life well-lived for others who come after you. Let that be your lasting legacy to inspire generations to come.
Appropriately, I have selected for my new Nation the theme of “inspiring generations.” It has special significance to me because I now have three of my six daughters in Arbonne Management, who also have NVP as their ultimate goal. My other three daughters are not yet in positions to work the business, but are extremely supportive and love using the products. My wish is that Arbonne will continue down through the generations of my own family, as well as the families of my team and our SuccessLines. As we introduce the Arbonne opportunity to others, we can all truly be connected in the tradition of success.
I feel so overwhelmingly fortunate to have come so far with Arbonne. I want to run with my dreams and inspire the lives of generations to come. Of course, it all starts with an amazing team of talented leaders, many of whom are destined to join our Vice President team. It has been said that the way to succeed in this business is to sponsor others who are better than yourself. I feel I have accomplished that perfectly with all of my leaders. Dawn Frank has been my dear friend for years and became my first RVP, and then NVP before I did. She and her dynamic team of RVPs — Debbie Knurek, Cathy Tyler, Barb Armstrong, Denise D’Alfonso, Stephanie Swaney and Jeanne Sterner and their teams — have been a constant source of inspiration and pride to me. And, RVP Cynthia Collins-Hansen performs business activities that would put me miles outside of my comfort zone and sells more at one Presentation than I can at three. What a great leader she has been, and continues to be, for her team. With her group growing at such an accelerated pace, there is no doubt that Cynthia will be an NVP very soon. New RVP Lori Nelson, who is such a great support, has the most creative ideas of anyone I know. We promoted together and it was so much fun sharing the excitement, and often stress, of pushing to the next level … but we did it together.
From my own Region, I want to thank Area Manager Jacque Gorton and District Managers, Pat Packer, Marilyn Taugner, Mary Finlayson, Julia Vickers, Stephanie Cook, Kathryn Higbee, Tara Hedges and Angie Wilcox, for their dedication and amazing support during my qualification period. It has been one of my greatest joys to see those on my team succeed. I always believed that they would because they are so much better than I am in many aspects of the business.
I often think how blessed I was to be sponsored by Deana Wilkinson and to have inherited such an amazing upline from her: Bonnie Erickson, Phoebe James, Donna Johnson and Thea O’Donoghue, thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your leadership, friendship and special talents. You have been such great role models for me to follow.
I want to express sincere love and appreciation to Stian Mørck, Candace Keefe and the entire Home Office staff for their tireless efforts to help us all be successful with this incredible opportunity and unchallenged superior line of products. Rita: Thank you for being such a shining example to all of us in living what you teach. To Rita and David: A special thank you goes to you for sharing your friendship with Loren and me. To Petter, how we love you: You made this all possible for us. Thank you for your dreams and the effort and sacrifice that you put forth to make them realities for all of us.
And last, for me, all my dreams would not have become a reality without the love and support of my incredible husband, Loren. He has been my constant support and cheerleader from the very beginning. He is my best friend and makes my life so fulfilled. Thank you for all you have done, and especially for the person you are — the wind beneath my wings.
A final word to all the Arbonne Consultants: Please remember that the dreams you put off will never come true. You must pursue them now or you may never have them. Precious time is ticking away … it’s all up to you. Don’t end your life with your dreams buried inside of you. Take the first step: Turn your dreams into goals, then add action and run with your dreams!
